ZopDay Plans & Seats
How ZopDay plans, limits and developer seats work, how to switch plans, and what happens to a seat when a member leaves the organisation.
Admins manage the organisation’s ZopDay plan and seats in ZopDay under Settings → Plan.
What a plan covers
A ZopDay plan sets the limits and features for ZopDay work on your own cloud: deployments, environments and clusters in cloud accounts you connected. The plan page lists each plan’s limits (for example, projects and cloud accounts) and its features.
Limits are checked when you create something, such as a project or a service. If a create would go past a limit, or needs a feature your plan does not include, it is refused, and the message names the limit or feature. Nothing you already have is removed.
Work on ZopCloud is not covered by the plan or by seats. It runs on your prepaid ZopCloud credit.
Switching plans
- Upgrades start now. You get credit for the unused days of your current plan.
- Moving to a smaller plan, or to a shorter billing period, happens when your paid term ends. Until then, you keep your current plan.
- Before you confirm a switch to a smaller plan, the preview lists what the new plan takes away, for
example
Projects: Unlimited → 5, and any feature it no longer includes. - You can cancel a scheduled switch before it takes effect.
Seats
A seat lets a member do ZopDay work on your own cloud. Your plan comes with the number of seats you bought. Admins give seats to members on the Plan page.
If more members are given seats than you bought, the ones given a seat most recently are listed as Waiting until a seat frees up. To give everyone a seat, add seats or unassign someone.
To pay for fewer seats, use Reduce seats. The reduction applies from your next renewal.
When a member leaves the organisation
- The seat frees at once. A member removed from the organisation loses their seat straight away, on every ZopDay plan the organisation has.
- The longest-waiting member gets it. If anyone is Waiting, the member who has waited longest now holds the free seat automatically. You can’t pick who gets it.
- Your bill doesn’t change mid-term. The number of seats you pay for stays the same until your renewal, and no credit is issued for the freed seat. To pay for fewer seats, reduce seats for your next renewal.
