Explain
Every finding says exactly what to change: Shorten Time Travel retention on the table.
Fix
The finding opens with the fix already written out, step by step, so it is one ticket, not an investigation.
- Applies to
- Snowflake Table on Snowflake
- The fix, by hand
- Open Snowsight → Data → Databases → table the resource → check DATA_RETENTION_TIME_IN_DAYS.
- For large or high-churn staging/ETL tables, lower retention: ALTER TABLE the resource SET DATA_RETENTION_TIME_IN_DAYS = 1;.
- For source-of-truth tables, leave default (1 day Standard / up to 90 days Enterprise). Time Travel covers recovery.
- Confirm in TABLE_STORAGE_METRICS that TIME_TRAVEL_BYTES dropped after the next maintenance pass.
These are the steps the finding carries in the product.
- Category
