  1. Open ACCESS_HISTORY for the resource and verify the clustering key is actually used by queries (look for pruning benefit).
  2. If pruning is poor or the table is rarely queried: ALTER TABLE the resource SUSPEND RECLUSTER;.
  3. Consider whether the clustering key is wrong. Re-evaluate vs query patterns; manual recluster on a schedule may be cheaper than automatic.
  4. Drop the clustering entirely if benefit is unclear: ALTER TABLE the resource DROP CLUSTERING KEY;.
  5. Confirm via AUTOMATIC_CLUSTERING_HISTORY that reclustering credits drop to zero.
