- S3 Console → bucket the resource → Metrics → enable Storage Lens (or use existing Storage Lens dashboard).
- Review access patterns: object count per prefix, GET frequency, age distribution.
- For unpredictable access: enable Intelligent-Tiering on the bucket (auto-shifts between Frequent / Infrequent / Archive Instant Access).
- For known-cold prefixes: Management → Lifecycle rules → Create rule → transition Standard → Standard-IA at 30d, → Glacier Instant at 90d.
- For archives: pick the right Glacier tier (Instant / Flexible / Deep Archive) based on retrieval-SLA.
