  1. S3 Storage Lens → identify prefixes whose objects haven't been accessed in 180+ days.
  2. Confirm retrieval-time SLA tolerates 12-48h restore (Deep Archive minimum).
  3. S3 → bucket the resource → Management → Lifecycle rules → Create rule → scope by prefix.
  4. Transitions → Current versions → Move to Glacier Deep Archive after N days (≥180 recommended).
  5. Save. S3 Storage Lens will show storage class shifts within 24h.
  6. Deep Archive has a 180-day minimum storage charge. Don't apply to data with churn.
