Idle Azure Storage Account
The account bills for the data it stores whether or not anything reads it, and an account with no transactions is paying to keep data nobody has needed.

Azure
Found, explained, fixed.
Findings with a dollar figure attached, idle, oversized, orphaned, unscheduled and undiscounted spend.
Detect
ZopNight checks this automatically across Azure, with read-only access to the account.
Explain
Every finding says exactly what to change: Delete idle storage account. Where the saving can be proven it is priced; where it cannot, the finding says so.
Fix
After a guided review, where you confirm the change, ZopNight deletes the resource, then checks the change took.
- Applies to
- Storage Accounts on Azure
- The fix, by hand
- Open Portal → Storage account → the resource → Storage browser, inventory blobs / files / tables / queues.
- If valuable cold archive: switch Account access tier to Cool or move blobs to Archive via lifecycle.
- If empty / abandoned: enable Blob soft-delete (if not already on), then Delete the account.
- Confirm no Function App / Diagnostic settings still write to this account.
ZopNight does this for you after a guided review.
