- Confirm tasks in the resource tolerate interruption (stateless, short-running, idempotent).
- ECS → Clusters → cluster → Capacity providers. Ensure FARGATE_SPOT is associated.
- ECS → Services → the resource → Update service → Capacity provider strategy → primary = FARGATE_SPOT (weight 4), fallback = FARGATE (weight 1, base 1 for steady-state floor).
- Force new deployment → monitor for task interruption events in CloudWatch.
- Verify Spot interruption rate stays acceptable for the workload (Bedrock-style ML training, batch, async fan-out are good fits).
