The fix, by hand
  1. App Service → the resource → Authentication (the App Service Authentication / EasyAuth blade).
  2. Add identity provider → choose Microsoft (Entra ID) for first-party, or Google/GitHub/etc. for SaaS users.
  3. Set Restrict access = Require authentication and Unauthenticated requests = HTTP 302 redirect (or 401 for API-only apps).
  4. Configure the token store and allowed audiences / redirect URIs.
  5. Test the app in an incognito window. Confirm the IdP login screen appears before the app loads.
  6. Roll out a slot swap if the app is production: deploy auth changes to a staging slot first, then swap.
