Japan has two regions from each provider, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka: AWS ap-northeast-1 and ap-northeast-3, Google Cloud asia-northeast1 and asia-northeast2, and Azure japaneast and japanwest.

Scheduling on local time
Japan uses Asia/Tokyo with no daylight saving time. Having two regions in the country makes a Tokyo and Osaka pair a natural recovery design. A standby copy that runs around the clock bills every hour, so decide deliberately whether each one must stay warm.
