AWS ap-southeast-4 (Melbourne) is an opt-in region. Sydney has its own page because all three providers run a region there.
Scheduling on local time
Australia uses several zones, and not all of them observe daylight saving time. Brisbane (Australia/Brisbane) and Perth (Australia/Perth) stay on standard time all year while Sydney and Melbourne move forward in October, so the gap between Sydney and Brisbane changes twice a year. Schedules written in each team’s IANA zone handle this without manual changes.
