The cluster has no services or tasks, so it is configuration nobody uses that still appears in inventory and in audits.

ZopNight checks this automatically across AWS, with read-only access to the account.
Explain
Every finding says exactly what to change: Delete empty ECS cluster.
Fix
After a guided review, where you confirm the change, ZopNight deletes the resource, then checks the change took.
- Applies to
- ECS Clusters on AWS
- The fix, by hand
- ECS → Clusters → the resource → Services + Tasks tabs. Confirm both are empty (0 running tasks, 0 services).
- Check for CI/CD pipelines / Terraform / CloudFormation stacks referencing this cluster ARN (grep your IaC repos).
- Delete any associated CloudWatch alarms and CloudWatch Container Insights dashboards.
- ECS → Clusters → the resource → Delete cluster → confirm.
- Audit capacity providers attached to the cluster (Fargate / ASG capacity providers). Delete if unused elsewhere.
ZopNight does this for you after a guided review.
- Category
- Advisory. Findings worth knowing about that carry no dollar figure and no one-click action. Each comes as a numbered playbook.
- Where it appears
- The Advisory tab of Recommendations, with every affected resource listed.
