The fix, by hand
  1. Review IOPS / throughput metrics for the attached Ultra Disk in Monitor → Metrics (namespace = Disks).
  2. If sustained P95 IOPS is well below the provisioned Ultra Disk tier, plan a swap to Premium SSD v2 or Premium SSD.
  3. Stop and deallocate the VM; detach the Ultra Disk.
  4. Create a Premium SSD v2 (or Premium SSD) of equivalent capacity; restore data from the Ultra Disk via snapshot copy.
  5. Reattach the new disk at the same LUN; restart the VM and verify application latency.
  6. Delete the original Ultra Disk only after one full business cycle of validation. Ultra Disk billing stops the moment the disk is deleted.
