Non-prod fallacy
The non-prod fallacy is a specific commitment-design mistake that recurs at almost every organization in the first FinOps year: buying reservations or Savings Plans for non-production compute. The error is mathematically guaranteed to under-perform, yet it is intuitive enough that smart Finance teams propose it.
